Add in the rice and seasonings and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 3 minutes until fragrant.
Add 3 cups of water to the pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Simmer for 20 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed.
Remove from heat and fluff with a fork before serving.
Serve hot, topped with jumbo shrimp or crawfish if desired! Enjoy!
Notes
For a spicier version, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the recipe.For more seafood flavor, substitute chicken broth for the water.
