Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan with butter.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together cornmeal, boiling water, salt, and sugar. Pour mixture into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until cornbread is golden brown and firm to the touch.
  • Remove from oven, and drizzle with melted butter. Serve hot. Enjoy!

Notes

This cornbread is delicious served with honey or molasses.
